Introducing Mikayla & Connor Hanks

I love my job, but this week I really LOVED my job.  Groom, Connor Hanks served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Mesa, Arizona, and we had the privilege of having him serve in our ward for several months.  During that time we enjoyed having him in our home many times and really grew to love this great young man.  Fast forward  about a year and he finished his mission, fell in love and got engaged to the beautiful Mikayla Rowland.  They planned to wed in the Gilbert Arizona temple, but their photographer cancelled at the last minute.  Thankfully, Connor remembered that I also photographed weddings and he called me.  We were so close to the wedding that we didn’t have time for the typical “golden Hour” formal portraits of the bride and groom, and so we headed out to Lost Dutchman state park at 6:00 o’clock in the morning.  Boy it felt early driving to the park in the dark, but as the sun came up over the  Superstition Mountains and we began to shoot, I was in love!  We got some incredible shots of this gorgeous couple .  It was very windy, but the light was amazing, the scenery was breathtaking, and the love between these two was palpable.  It was an incredible shoot (see below for the proof).  Thanks for thinking of me Mr. & Mrs. Elder Hanks!  :)
